President of the Republic Receives Delegation of Young Researchers from the Ruđer Bošković Institute

The President of the Republic Zoran Milanović received today a delegation of young researchers from the Ruđer Bošković Institute (RBI), including the head of bacterial biofilm research Tomislav Domazet-Lošo, Ph. D., postdoctoral researcher Momir Futo, Ph. D., doctoral researchers Sara Koska and Nina Čorak, and Director of the Ruđer Bošković Institute David Matthew Smith, Ph. D.

President Milanović invited the young researchers from the Ruđer Bošković Institute to the meeting in his Office on the occasion of the publication of results of their research that has provided a new insight into the behaviour of biofilm bacteria. Their work has shown that the research conducted thus far has underestimated the complexity of bacteria. The findings of the research have been published in the renowned journal Molecular Biology and Evolution. Members of the RBI delegation informed President Milanović about the course of their research and the significance of their findings.

At the meeting with the President of the Republic, members of the delegation also discussed general operations of the Ruđer Bošković Institute and plans to invest in new facilities and modern equipment. The Director of the Ruđer Bošković Institute David Matthew Smith presented these plans to President Milanović.
